Swim

Swimming with KTC involves coached sessions at the 25m indoor pools at Knutsford and Wilmslow Leisure Centres. There are also several informal sessions at local open water venues.

The OFFICAL TRAINING SESSIONS can be viewed here.

If you wish to attend a training session before you join – this is done on the JoinIn system when you book a session by selecting trial rather than calendar entry. You can join 3 sessions free of charge before being asked to sign up for membership. You will also be given access to the Club Private Facebook page.

Our coached swimming sessions are pool based and are designed to help you develop your technique and build your stamina for both triathlon and stand-alone open water events. The Club has four allocated lanes in the 25m pool at Knutsford Leisure Centre on a Friday morning where we run two sessions so that swimmers of all standards can work at their own pace.

Throughout the autumn, winter and spring, we also have two lanes at Wilmslow Leisure Centre pool on a Sunday morning. Some members also take part in Masters Swim sessions in Northwich, Middlewich and Macclesfield.
Our sessions attract an average of twenty members and are currently 45 – 60 minutes in duration depending on the location – some members do double sessions. Each week we focus on different aspects of swimming technique and fitness whether it be short, hard sets or longer, less intensive work.

To bring our training closer to the competitive environment, between May and September we attend open water sessions organised by Uswim Openwater at their venues which include Dock 9, Salford Quays and Boundary Park, Holmes Chapel. Many members also visit Pickmere or Wild Shore in Delamere.

There are several non-coached informal sessions in various WhatsApp groups in the club where members arrange unofficial bike rides, swims and runs.

When it comes to taking part in individual swim events, members join events such as The Great North Swim at Windermere and The Ullswater and Windermere end to ends. Some members also take part in Masters team swim events.
