The event has won the support of Knutsford Town Council with a £1,500 community grant.

The inaugural swimming, cycling and running race in May this year attracted 118 entrants and was hailed a huge success.

Crowds lined the streets to cheer on cyclists and runners.

The swim was held at Knutsford Leisure Centre, which held a swim, bike, run course in the lead up to the event to encourage first timers to have a go.

Peter Ford, chairman of the Knutsford Triathlon event committee said:

“We are very happy to receive a community grant in support of our triathlon. “It means we have a secure financial basis to put on the event in 2026 and puts us in a position to build on this year’s success with even more happy participants.

“We look to increase community engagement with sport and actively encourage first timers into triathlon.

“We want the Knutsford Triathlon to become an annual fixture, to take part in or support and welcome the support of the Town Council.”

The grant will support the running costs of the 2026 event which will be held on Sunday 17th May
